                                 ABSTRACT FINAL

The growth of genetics and molecular biology requires computer science the ability to process, store and extract information from the vast amounts of structured and unstructured biological data. Informational model capable of achieving this task should have the following main features: adequately reflect the real objects; be flexible to adapt to new types of biological data; allow to process the data with the existing techniques and optimal rate of extracting of information which is currently necessary; provide the possibility to present the data in the convenient and understandable format. The informational model, which suits all these requirements, does not exist now that leads to the loss of information and time to invent the new approach for every new object.

The long-term aim of the project is to develop such a type of the informational model and realize it in the software. For this purpose it is suggested to invent a data modeling semantics using biological symbols and terms with a possibility of future expanding and alignment. A common semantics and syntax to describe biological objects will allow to develop and manage a biological knowledge database that will enable researchers to gather information according to each individual’s role, responsibility and need.
