(DUII), Maryland, USA –October 18, 2002– Starfruit CrimeLab™ Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) was featured in “Baltimore drug unit goes paperless” by Edgar Koch Sr. Law Enforcement Technology July 2002:124-128. The article described the situation of Baltimore City Police Department (BPD) before and after implementing  Starfruit CrimeLab™ where BPD eliminated paper operation including manually entering scientific investigation data, duplicating reports, locating missing reports, delivering reports, faxing reports, and administrative filing reports.  Flowchart below illustrates the elimination and how BPD disseminates reports electronically from Starfruit server via BPD wide area network to reach the criminal justice system.
