(DUII), Maryland, USA –May 28, 2002– DUII’s current client,
Commonwealth Biotechnologies, Inc. (CBI) was awarded on May 21, 2002 a
one-year, renewable contract for performance of paternity test analyses
for all persons mandated for testing by the Baltimore Circuit Court,
Baltimore City. In the initial year of this contract, CBI is expected to
conduct analyses on more than 3,000 individual test samples.
Because CBI's lab uses a high-throughput operation scheme, Douglas R. Oliveri, Ph.D. Director of DNA Services at CBI wanted to eliminate possible mishandling of samples, especially mislabeling or exchanging samples. DUII was the answer to this great challenge and provided a Laboratory
Information Management System (LIMS) software and database that not only
transformed CBI's paper-based laboratory documentation to electronic
record management, but also solved problems of Quality Assurance/Quality
Control (QA/QC). “We’re sure to give Starfruit a workout,” said Oliveri. |
